If you are considering starting out on SAP career path, or maybe you have just started, you probably have this question. The answer is simply “NO”.
But why is it a “no”?
If you are counting on courses alone to get a good job, you are definitely going the wrong way. And this doesn’t only apply to courses in the SAP field. Any course you take in any field shouldn’t be promising you a job; otherwise they’d be lying to you. You always have to put some extra effort along with the course.
So, whether or not you get a good job depends only on your technical and soft skills, your creative thinking, your attitude, your perseverance and how willing you are to put in extra efforts among a lot of other factors.
How will the course help me?
The course will give you the SAP knowledge and hands-on experience you need to start out. It will give you a guide on where to begin and what you can do to move forward. It is an opportunity to be mentored by experts in the field, to get the required materials and documents and to advance your technical skills. It is certainly your key to open the gates of the wide world of SAP, but it’s just the key, you still have to open the gates yourself.
So, what kind of “extra effort” can I put in?
Remember that employers won’t judge you based only on a course you took, but rather on many different factors, including your personality. That’s why, you have to put in mind that you will need to constantly work on your soft skills, develop your experience and focus on gaining more knowledge. Self-studying and practicing the SAP on your own along with taking courses will definitely help you excel faster. Seize every opportunity you find to take your business knowledge and experience to a higher level and try to get help from your mentors and never hesitate to ask questions or ask for help.
