The overall purpose of the Project Risk Management Workshop course is to provide students with proven strategies and practical approaches to the management of risk associated with information technology projects. Further, the course conveys to the students that risk management is a business imperative applicable to the full project life cycle and to expand their knowledge of the ways and means (methods, techniques, and tools), and skills required to manage risk in a professional and comprehensive manner
Project Risk Management Workshop Course:
The course includes interactive course room discussions and team exercises to maximize the learning experience.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Recognize the importance of project risk management to the attainment of key business objectives
- Apply approved and industry-accepted techniques to risk management planning, risk identification, qualitative risks analysis, quantitative risk analysis, risk response planning, and risk monitoring and control
- Use proven techniques to assess, qualify, and quantify risks
- Utilize mitigation-strategy types to help drive creative mitigation strategy development
- Explain how to determine and apply risk/opportunity trade-offs in relation to business objects
- Develop risk mitigation plans through the use of forms, tools, and techniques
- Apply advanced risk management skills to a project Determine and apply risk/opportunity trade-offs in relation to business objectives
- Appreciate the need for proactive risk management
- Proactively apply advanced risk management skills to effectively and efficiently manage risk on complex projects
Successful completion of Principles of Project Management (JP50) or equivalent course, or experience as a project manager
1 Week
Twice a week: Evening sessions @ 6 PM
Once a week: Full day sessions on Saturdays @ 10 AM
